HOUSE G
A mountain House
Location - Har-Adar
Site Area - 680 m²
Built Area - 300 m²
Perched on a rocky ledge with sweeping views of the Jerusalem mountains, this L-shaped, three-story residence was thoughtfully designed for a family of five, with future expansion in mind. On the first (street) level, a fully self-contained unit awaits – a space envisioned for the family’s older children as they grow.
The main house is formed by two interlocking stone structures. The shorter, single-story wing serves as an open-plan communal area, seamlessly integrating the kitchen, dining, and living spaces. Concealed skylights within the concrete roof channel soft, indirect light and ventilation throughout, while large glazed doors open onto a private outdoor terrace.
The adjoining two-story wing, oriented perpendicular to the main living area, houses the family’s bedrooms. Each room connects to a naturally lit hallway that leads directly to both the communal areas and a secluded garden. A sculptural staircase of concrete and stone ascends to the master suite, where an intimate balcony offers serene views of the valley below, catching the cool mountain breezes and providing a tranquil, elevated retreat.
