The design idea and building techniques behind this house were inspired by traditional local coastline architecture. It is a single-family, single story house situated a few hundred meters from a wild beach in the Northern part of the coastline. It was constructed using mostly local and natural materials and is naturally ventilated, using traditional techniques for creating air-flow and hot-air exhausts. Its carefully planned and positioned openings contribute in keeping a comfortable interior temperature throughout the year, while providing filtered natural light and shelter from the burning summer sun. The coarse, earthen-plaster finish of the exterior and interior walls and ceilings, conveys a pleasant and cozy mood, an atmosphere of being and living in familiar, embracing, natural spaces.
